Dorigolia

Dorigon / Dorigolia is what I've always viewed as my greatest work, and it is ever growing alongside me. It is the fictional world in which most of my characters and creations live, and I affectionally call it my project baby.

Welcome to Dorigolia

On Earth in ancient times, the magical creatures of legend were known to be real. They lived here before humans, and as we arrived, raised us to live as they did. But we humans are creatures of greed by nature. As humans rose, magic was taken advantage of, and the original Elven empire of old began to crumble. The ancient gods banned together to save the last breath of Earth, the little true magic it still had left, and created a new god destined to lead that magic into a new world. A mighty beast known as Dorigon, a spectral leviathan who drifts across the universe and consumes space debris, was resurrected by this newborn god. It’s outer shell serves as a new planet for the Elven empire, it’s slumbering body serves as its eternal protector. With the aid of his 12 Eyes, the god built a bridge from Earth to Dorigon, and a great migration of magical creatures began. The 12 Eyes guided the birth of a new Elven empire while the God of Dorigon protects from above. Such was the birth of Dorigolia, and the reduction of true magic on Earth to nothing but tales etched in stone.

Dorigolia is home to countless magical races, flora and fauna, and materials. The world is split up into 14 major nations and other smaller territories. Humans do exist there, but they are small in number, as the only humans are descendants of family members of the magical races who migrated there from Earth. Today, communication between Dorigolia and Earth is possible via special proxies chosen by the All Father. In exchange for it's resurrection, the mighty Dorigon slumbers within the core of the planet, protecting it with an atmospheric shield.

"Dorigolia"

The name of the civilization built upon the back of the mighty Dorigon, founded and watched over by the All Father and his 12 Eyes.

The world

Continents

The world of Dorigolia is primarily made up of 14 major nations and some smaller territories. It has 5 continents, two of which are famous for their appearance of two dragons swirling around each other.

Continents:

- Volucris (left)

- Lacerta (right)

- Insulanis (Middle)

- Northern Icelands

- Southern Icelands

It is important to note that a technical 6th "continent" exists - The floating islands that make up the air kingdom of Aria.

There are many large islands on Dorigon as well. The entire nations of Haos and Sonorus are made up of island chains, as well as the Minyx Tribelands, and the wasteland known as Caligo.

The Northern and Southern Icelands are largely uninhabited, but coastal communities have been established on both continents.

Nations

Erisona

Erisona is a vast empire in the northwestern reaches of Dorigon, renowned for its brilliant white and gold cities, rolling farmland, and immense political influence. Marble temples, sunlit plazas, towering columns, and sweeping aqueducts dominate its settlements, reflecting the empire’s long tradition of masterful stonework and architecture. Its people favor loose, flowing clothing decorated with metal jewelry and sun motifs, while farmers, masons, artisans, and soldiers form the backbone of its prosperity. Known as the Empire of the Sun, Erisona is the nation most closely associated with the element of Light. Its patron deity, Chrysos, God of the Sun, is revered throughout not just the empire, but the entire world, and holds a place of honor above even the royal family. His symbols can be found on homes, temples, banners, armor, and public monuments across the land. Even the golden coin used internationally, known as the Suncrest, features his mark.

Erisona also stands at the forefront of Dorigon’s struggle against Ira and devilkind. Its armies, religious orders, and Light mages have long served as a powerful defense against corruption, earning the empire great respect abroad. As a result, Erisona maintains alliances across much of the known world, and many nations look to it for protection, guidance, and leadership.

Sonorus

Sonorus is a stormbound kingdom formed from a chain of rugged islands surrounded by near-constant thunder, violent winds, and flashing skies. To outsiders, the region seems almost uninhabitable. To the harpies who call it home, however, the endless storm is a source of pride. They believe that living beneath such turbulent skies tempers the body and spirit alike, producing people strong enough to conquer even the harshest winds.

The population of Sonorus is primarily harpy, and its people are organized into large communal tribes known as nests. Each nest possesses its own traditions, colors, customs, and leadership, though all share a common respect for strength, resilience, and skill in the open sky. Rivalries between nests are common, but so too are festivals, competitions, and alliances that reinforce their shared identity.

Sonorans are also unusually welcoming toward outsiders who prove themselves. Anyone brave enough to cross the surrounding storm and reach the islands alive is often treated with immediate respect, and those who choose to remain may eventually be accepted as one of their own.

Basileus

Basileus is the ancient homeland of dragonkind, a vast and sacred realm where dragons of countless lineages first gathered during the earliest days of Dorigon. More than a kingdom, it is considered a birthplace, sanctuary, and eternal home for the beings who helped shape the world itself. Even today, a great many dragons are born within Basileus, raised among towering cities, ancient nesting grounds, and monuments older than many mortal nations.

Dragons are regarded throughout Dorigon as natural guides and keepers of balance, often acting as mediators, teachers, and protectors among the younger races. Their connection to magic runs especially deep, as dragonkind played a vital role in shaping and maintaining the world’s ley lines and the flow of magical energy across the planet.

Unlike most nations, Basileus is not bound to a single elemental domain. Dragons of every affinity and lineage are welcomed there, and its culture reflects this immense diversity. At the heart of the realm stand Valorian, the God-King of Dragons, and Mistra, the Mother of Dragons, revered as the divine ancestors and protectors of dragonkind. To dragons across the world, Basileus remains a place they may always return to—and always belong.

Vitalis

Vitalis is the northern Kingdom of Life, a rugged land of deep fjords, evergreen forests, glacial valleys, and windswept highlands. Though its winters are harsh, the kingdom is defined by the stubborn persistence of life. Vitalian culture values family, community, ancestry, and endurance, with hearths serving as symbols of kinship and ancient sagas preserving generations of memory.

Life magic is deeply woven into everyday society, particularly through healing, medicine, animal care, and strengthening the body. Traditional practices are often passed down through families and apprenticeships. Above all, Vitalis teaches that life is precious because it survives.

Regina

Regina is a predominantly human kingdom founded by the All Father as a sanctuary for those arriving from Earth. Created to help newcomers adjust to Dorigon’s magic, creatures, and unfamiliar customs, it remains one of the safest places for human immigrants to begin their new lives. Regina also serves as an important center of communication with Earth, making it a natural crossroads between worlds.

Though it holds relatively little political power, the kingdom enjoys the protection and guidance of neighboring Basileus. Its busy towns welcome travelers of every race, and constant movement through the region has made Regina a thriving center of trade, cultural exchange, and new beginnings.

Haos

Haos is a volcanic nation shaped by heat, sea, and tradition, with its capital resting at the foot of an active volcano. Its people trace much of their ancestry to the eastern regions of Old Earth, and the nation is divided into three major prefectures: Wuyuan in the north, Bai at its center, and Nakamura in the south.

Despite its dangerous landscape, Haos is prosperous and widely known for its exports, particularly fine arts, crafted goods, and seafood. Fishing communities thrive along its coasts, while inland settlements draw heavily from the fertile volcanic soil.

Haos is also renowned as a homeland of the Yokai, who have lived alongside its other peoples for generations and remain an important part of the nation’s culture, folklore, and identity.

Sirusiron

Sirusiron was once simply a kingdom dedicated to the moons of Dorigon. Since the beginning of the 800 year reign of Emperor Iodin, it has become a dark cursed land stuck in perpetual twilight, an empire of outcasts, and a wound that bleeds enough Ira and Devils to be nicknamed the "Kingdom of Monsters". Despite the view from the outside, it is actually a rather peaceful place, although certainly dim, and is filled with a very loyal population. It is the ancestral home to the dark elven races, such as Devils, Concubi, Imps, and Vampires. Due to the background of their emperor, Sirusiron doesn't have many allies or hold much trust internationally, but they are still a major exporter of a unique and highly valuable metal called Caeruleum that keeps them economically relevant.

The curse on Sirusiron is part of the famous legend of Tazuko, and what made the unique environment there possible. When his father bound Emperor Tazuko Iodin's heart to his castle, the darkness within it became part of the land as well. As "God of the Veil", his influence would seep into the earth, and fundamentally change it forever. Now, the flora and fauna have evolved to be largely bioluminescent creatures, thriving in the night.
